When a farmer family finds a mysterious egg they take it along to closer observation. At the same time- inside the egg’s parallel world, a human gets a special drink from a mystical figure. Surreal situations start to occur and as the human finds the egg’s exit to the outside world questions about life and existence arise.

About the Film:

The Orphic Egg is a story of cosmic genesis which takes the viewer around the globe to different places like Xochimilco in Mexico, Hokkaido in Japan and Laas in Italy.

The film is a mixture of history, mythology and natural science, combined in a private universe in which symbols and images are layered and interconnected in a dreamlike language. The resulting cosmology is both surreal and associative at the same time putting the unconscious into discourse.
